Under 8’s – St Georges Park Ultimate Experience

It was a fantastic day out for our U8’s and U8 Imps on Friday 1st June as they visited St Georges Park, the national football centre, for their ultimate experience day.

With the World Cup only days away, the U8s had a fantastic opportunity to see and play on the facilities for themselves that the England teams all use when meeting up for international duty. Unfortunately they missed the England team training by one day, but did manage to catch a glimpse of Andy Murray, who was visiting for rehab on his recent injury.

An early start saw the children arrive for 9:30 and get shown around the facilities including a replica of the Wembley surface, a full-size indoor 3G pitch, a suite of rehabilitation and sports science areas, and an indoor futsal sports hall. Truly world class facilities to inspire a new generation. This was followed by a training session by an FA coach on the David Beckham 3g pitch which finished at mid day.

A big thank you to the coach and everyone at St Georges Park for being so welcoming and giving them chance to see behind the scenes as well as an interesting passing training session which we are sure will prove beneficial.
