Matt Hammerton has stepped down as HBW United FC Chair.
Since taking over as chairman at the 2014/15 AGM, Matt has led the club’s achievement of Charter Standard status, brought a ladies team into the club, conceived the transitional tournament that was a great success, supported ongoing coach development and leaves the club in a healthy financial position for the future.
Matt first joined the club supporting the current U13s when they were U7s, has managed and coached other teams and also acted as treasurer when no one else was prepared to do so.
Everyone involved with HBW United would like to thank Matt for his commitment and dedication during his time with the club – always acting with the best interests of the club, its teams, its volunteers and its 200+ players in mind. We wish Matt all the best for the future.
John Lines is the club’s Vice Chair and has taken on responsibilities in the interim period as the club seeks a replacement chairperson. If you know of anyone who would be interested in this role, or any other role within the club, then please get in touch as we are always looking for more fantastic volunteers.
